Anyone else catch it?

During Lewis Black's "Back in Black" commentary during the second segment of the show, he started talking about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il and brought up Pugasari, even going so far to show clips, and how Kim had the filmmaker held hostage to make it. Not a whole lot to it outside a few sarcastic remarks about why a powermad dictator would go to such lengths to make a Godzilla rip-off. The best line came after he finished showing some cheesy clips from the movie and astutely stated, Before you laugh, we're the ones that spent $12 million dollars on House of Wax this past weekend!"

They even used a clip from the movie as their "Moment of Zen" at the end of the show.

If you're interested, they usually replay the following days episode of The Daily Show at 11:30 PM EST/10:30 PM CST.

I saw it, and was really surprised, too. When Lewis Black said "Pulgasari" recognition sparked inside my brain. I knew that the film was supposedly "made under slave labor," but I did not know the whole story. The segment was actually pretty educational for a kaiju fan like me. The clips were pretty cool, too. :)

Does anyone have any pics of the Kaiju? I've never seen it before...

^ When and how did they do that?

I remember a funny Godzilla reference in their "America: the Book." It was in a section about famous court cases, and talked about a 1973 case where Godzilla sues Megalon for shooting lighting bolts at him. Godzilla loses the case, and he and his lawer (name escapes me) destroy Tokyo in anger.

I saw this too, I was gonna post about it but was too late.... Nice House of Wax punchline, though.

Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich raped my childhood!

I was surprised by the PULGASARI story consider it came out on VHS a few years ago, but it was funny nevertheless.
