The problem I have with the REBIRTH trilogy is that they're bad kids' films full of poor writing, terrible acting, and weak special effects. If Toho decides to make a good Mothra film like the original or GODZILLA VS THE THING I'm all for it, but these films aren't that by a loooooong shot.
Posted: Sat Mar 05, 2005 2:32 amI do have this trilogy, and the main reason is because I already had the original "Mothra" movie and felt as though my collection would remain incomplete without it. No, I'm not big on Mothra having her own series of films (personally, I just don't think she's interesting enough to warrant a whole series being based around her), but the trilogy is not that bad...not that great, but not without any merit and it's certainly better than any of the movies from the '90s Gamera trilogy (with the possible exception of "Gamera Vs. Legion")...that and Belveera's (is that how you spell her name) is pretty hot . Overall, not the best series of movies around but it could've been worse.
