FCTW Title Card ?

Here's a question I have that needs a small setup.

We've all (or most of us) have seen the widescreen UPA version of Monster Zero with that title: 'Monster Zero'. Now the tv/pan-and-scan version had the video generated title of 'Godzilla vs. Monster Zero' with a particular font style in white. Same thing for AIP's version of Mothra vs. Godzilla. The theatrical version had 'Godzilla vs. The Thing', and the tv/p&s verion had the video generated title of 'Godzilla vs. Mothra' in that same font style.

Now for the question. I saw AIP's version of Frankenstein Conquers The World twice on tv. At the beginning, it had that title video generated again in that same font style. Okay, how come they didn't just sqeeze the title into the 4:3 tv frame? I remember that's what was done with the full frame version of War of the Gargantuas.

Does anyone understand what I'm saying? Maybe anyone of the older fans on this board would know and could answer.

BTW, the R2 DVDs of FCTW and WOTG are mighty fine, but that's another thread.
