Okay, i've been wanting to ask this question for a very long time: has anyone besides me notice that the American version of War of the Gargantuas contains scenes not found in the japanese version? I mean, there is Tamblyn's and Tajima's talk about a dessicated hand in the elevator, scenes of Sanda's feet making long strides, a conversation concerning the theory of Cain and Abel, and other stuff. So, is this like the case with Rodan, where UPA/Maron had access to deleted scenes for their release? Seems the same case as with Frankenstein Conquers the World and King Kong Escapes too. And if so, how come no one has ever said anything about this? And does the R2 have these deleted scenes? (if it does I might actually get it  )I really wish Classic Media would do a good release, with at least two different versions of the films and deleted scenes (and a cool cover)

BTW, has anyone else noticed the Akira Kubo's character in Son of Godzilla has the same name as the reporter in Godzilla 1985?

Yeah, the R2 WotG is terrific and very much worth getting. It does have a comparison between shots in the American (fullscreen) version and the Japanese cut (though I'm not sure if it has all the differences). Nothing major, that I remember; except for the exclusion of Ifukube's music for alot of the US version. Also, the zoom shot of the woman's clothes Gaira spits out onto the airport tarmac was cut for the Japanese version, which I find very strange. They cut directly from Gaira spitting them out to the shot of the bouquet of flowers.

Neo, I don't believe the international version of "War of the Gargantuas" has been released anywhere. As far as I know, there was the Japanese version and the U.S. version used for distribution around the world.

Anyone here seen an international version of "Sanda vs. Gailah"?

well, i've seen a Greek version of WAR, and it had different English dubbing (it was also edited to about 75 minutes). so i'd guess there IS an International version floating around out there. I think it was called KATANGO'S WAR or something like that. the reason i say Greek is that it had Greek subs under it.
