I haven't seen "Along With Ghosts" yet, but the other two were pretty neat, if only because Japanese folkloric monsters are cool. (For some reason the No Face freaks me out. I think I had nightmares about something like that when I was real little.) That being said, I'd like to see one done with modern effects.

Tiny Gigan, check out "Sakuya, Slayer of Demons" as mentioned above. It's basically a "fourth" Yokai film with modern Gamera-style effects. A bunch of the spooks from the Yokai trilogy make an appearance in the film.

Also, Haraguchi is working on a less juvinile sequel to Sakuya Youkaiden, so look forward to that sometime in the near future.

Got the 3rd Yokai Monsters flick (Along With Ghosts) on order from deepdiscountdvd. I should get it in a week or so.
Really enjoyed these wacky, very Japanese fantasy films. The first, 100 Monsters, is more serious (and quite creepy at times), whereas Spook Warfare has the ghosts/monsters banding together to help some humans fight off Daimon, with more humor in the mix. Both are alot of fun.
Looking forward to Along With Ghosts!

I have seen and own all three. I liked them so much that I been hunting down other movie with the theme of Fedal Japan era swordplay and Kaiju mixed.
Plus has anyone seen Onmyoji? I read a couple reviews and it sounds kinda of along the same lines. But more serious and recent.

Sakuya is a lot of fun and has excellent effects work by our pal Shinji Higuchi.
I've heard the Buffy connection numerous times, but I just don't see it. But then again, I don't watch Buffy. "Sakuya" is a film aimed at the general audience, rather than being a direct children's movie.
The film wasn't made by any of the big studios I don't believe. But itwas distributed by Warner Brothers Japan. Hell, they might have made the picture.
