I was watching this movie on Sci-Fi the other day. And even though I have never seen Yonggary, the monster in Reptilian bears a striking resemblence to Yonggary. Is this some kinda remake or something?

Reptillian is the name of the American version of Yongarry 1999. Sorta like how Godzilla was called "Gigantis" in the dub of GRA. In other words, Reptillian IS Yongarry.

Yeah, what CyHunter said. Yonggary 1999 was a remake of the original Yongary. However the American version of the film, Reptilian, is actually the special edition of Yonggary 1999 called Yonggary 2001 Update.

This is in the wrong forum because this film was made in Korea, hence it is not a Western Kaiju film.

I finally got around to watching this last night. Horrible. The only thing worse than the fx was the acting, and that's saying a lot

. This little gem has a 2.9 voter score on the imbd, and I can see why. Man, I just can't get over how horrible the acting was :shock:

. The premise was pretty good. I haven't seen the original so i don't know if they just rehashed the storyline from that. Did I mention the bad acting in this

I love this movie. The horrible acting, and the stupid plot! It's too funny! The bad acting + the stupid dialogue = The greatest Kaiju Comedy Movie that I have ever seen...

Well, I didn't say it was better than G98, I said I enjoyed it more than that film - Yongary does a lot more rampaging than Gino does, plus he fights another monster. I thought 'Reptilian' was fun, G98 looked nice, but wasn't all that entertaining for me, that's all.

But it is better than Zarkorr.

I saw this on SiFi i few months ago, it looked like they just wanted to cash in on the GINO hype but it could have been worse like space godzilla(waits for Cyhunter)

Koreans shouldn't be allowed to make monster films. But you have to admit that the battle between Yonggary and the flying solders was entertaining.
