Do you guys think PULGASARI is in public domain?

I was just wondering, since it was made by the Red Bamb...I mean, North Korea.

I think TOHO could use him in a Godzilla movie, but then they'd have to double up on security. ;-)

That's an interesting question. Didn't Toho distribute Pulgasari back in the late 90's/early 2000's? I'm not sure what rights they maintain to it today. Pulgasari would have to eat alot more metal to grow big enough to match any Toho kaiju except for maybe Kong and MechaniKong from KK Escapes. I think Pulgasari was only like 60 feet tall at his biggest.

While this particular monster is actually copywrited, to my knowledge, Pulgasari itself is an old Korean folk tale, so, theoretically, you could use the concept with a new design. Look at the differences in the '62 and '85 versions, for example.
