That film was a real head-scratcher to me. Far overrated in my book which poses the question how much did the critics get paid to endorse this piece of crap?

I didn't know it was overrated. Everyone I've talked to about it seems to hate it, I thought I was the only one who remotely liked the thing.

I didn't hate Big Man Japan, it did have its moments IMHO. But it was so slowly paced, and you really couldn't find any likeable characters in it Also the ending was extremely WTF!

*sigh*

First, it was Power Rangerization, now it's American remakes.

Hollywood just won't let foreigners show them up. What's next? Editing Jackie Chan and Jet Li out of their own HK films?

Well, there goes the neighborhood...

As I said in the remake thread, this is just WEIRD news. Big Man Japan is probably the most Japanese thing I've ever seen. The humor is SO Japanese that its almost impenetrable. I don't see how that can adapt to American sensibilities.
