Finished the book last week. I already posted my thoughts in the "Reading Thread" but I'll post them here too...
"Finished MM9-I liked it a lot. It does some pretty novel things regarding kaiju and I like the science involved in how they exist. The book's a little thin on human characters but that just means more time to focus on questions regarding the kaiju themselves. Fasinating and worth the read."
Oh, and it's not written like a typical novel really. Each chapter focuses on a different kaiju "attack", so in that sense...each of the five or so chapters is essentially structured like an Ultraman episode and that's not a bad thing at all. The book is also full of easter eggs and subtle nods to everything from Jiger to the Rhedosaurus and the ants from Them!
