Thank's for the great article.

And for mentioning it at all... Curiously once again it seems no one here is interested in these great movies. I don't understand.

Thanks for reading the article!

I honestly don't expect a lot of feedback when I post about topics like KITARO or 252: SIGNAL OF LIFE or 20th CENTURY BOYS because a) they're not Godzilla and b) most people haven't seen them yet. I do hope that, by posting links here and elsewhere, people will take a look at the articles and maybe discover a film or show that they might enjoy.

There's such a great variety of material coming out of Japan (as well as Korea and elsewhere) and I think the more people find out about it the more demand there will be, and therefore a better chance of an American release.

I liked KITARO and hope that KITARO AND THE MILLENNIUM CURSE gets a US release as well. I think that would definitely have happened if BCI stayed in business, but maybe Media Blasters or some other distributor will pick it up.

:?: There are very few people into this stuff to begin with here in the U.S. ... The ones that I know personally all agree that the two films are worthy. I can see some fans hating on them(Hell, I didn't even want them to produce the first one!) But you will never make all the fanbase happy with the a transition like we are speaking of .... Manga/Anime/Live action.

No arguments here. Hoping that those on the board interested in the slightest bit will at least give it a chance. All the Male viewers should get a Kick out of Cat girl that's for sure .

Youkai in general are so singularly of Japanese culture, though parallels could be made to other countries' mythologies, that I think it is a hard sell to Western and American cultures in particular. I've talked with Youkai expert Matt Alt about this exact thing and in an upcoming interview which will hopefully be live at scifijapan in the very near future (as soon as I get it transcribed).

I reread my own pocket review of Millenium Curse and I seem to have liked it pretty well  but it sort of backs up my original statement: I didn't even remember liking it. I'll have to watch it again, and yes I love that this type sub-genre stuff is finding a place in the R-1 market.
