"GUALAGON"!! German Kaiju!!

I just came across this one in one of my searches. Apparently, from what I can make out, it's a new German radio play that takes place in 1966 in Japan. It's obviously a loving tribute to Toho's classics, with characters like 'Dr. Tamblyn' and even a 'Serizawa Institute'. Those and it's Tohoesque score point that out. It even has some CGI visuals that were made for it of the kaiju[great looking stuff!!]. Some of you may recognize it's creator's name; Ralph Lorenz as the guy behind the still unfinished German 'King Kong' knock-off; "Kongula": http://kongula.de/ Here's the official website[the trailer's coming soon!!]: http://www.gualagon.de/index.htm and a banner of the film: http://www.gualagon.de/banner/gualagon_bigbanner.jpg and this is pretty interesting; an original concept artwork seems to imply that the creature is a conglomerate design of "Hedorah" and "Guilala"?? : http://www.monstercon.de/projekte/guala ... review.jpg They're even saying that if it's successful enough then there may be a kit or comic or even a film. A little more here: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/20 ... /gualagon/ Pretty cool huh?? 8-)

...so on the eventual dvd[as they've already released one dvd radio play named 'Frankenstein In Hiroshima'] what would it look like?? Obviously, it'd have these pics, and I'd assume some more, but would there be any 'moving scenes'?? What about the 'in-between' times?? Just blank screen or title cards or does it just pause on one pic/scene till the next part comes up?? :?

From what I gathered from the "Kongula's Pranke Forum"[Kongula's Paw Forum] they said that the last bit of filming/recording was to happen this month[July] and next[August] if all goes as planned. I would imagine it will play there soon, then hopefully come to the U.S.. Now that it's getting all this attention here, they should be interested in giving us a version to. 8-)

NOW'S OUR CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now's our chance guys!!!! They're giving us a chance to let them know if we want 'GUALAGON' and they've given' us a better explanation of the project; on the official website there is now[at the left hand bottom corner] an option for English: "A hearty Hello to all of you international Kaiju Fans out there! We've noticed, that our Gualagon project has created a lot of interest in the community, so we decided to include this text on the website as well.
First of all, let us clear up some missunderstandings. Gualagon will be a radioplay (although the term radioplay is not quite appropriate, since this will not be played on the radio, therefore we prefer the term audioplay) and not a movie. Apparently there had been two facts that led people to believe, that Gualagon will be a movie. Although it is correct that the main creative person behind the project is indeed the same Ralf Lorenz who helmed the (in)famous Kongula Movie Project, this time he decided to create and produce an audioplay. This was not done due to budgetary reasons, as some people believe, but because this time he wanted to make sure that he would have a team behind him to ensure the completion of the project. The other reason for people to think we would be doing a movie, was the button marked 'trailer'. There will be a trailer on our homepage soon, alas it will be an audio trailer only.
Also there were reports that there will be a comicbook etc. for Gualagon. Neither a comicbook nor other variations of the project are planned right now. There was also speculation on an english version of the audioplay. Sorry to disappoint you again, but so far we are not considering this as anything that will happen soon, if ever. Of course we would love to do all those things, but at the moment our tight budget will not permit us to do so. However, we are considering to release the soundtrack seperately, including an english booklet, if there is enough demand for it. So send us an E-Mail: : kontakt@gualagon.de and let us know what you think." Speak now or forever hold your peace. Maybe, they'll except donations as well, since their budget seems to be the issue?? Anything you can offer would be of help. All it takes is one e-mail!!!!
8-)

ATTENTION!! E-MAIL UPDATE/CORRECTION!! I've just been in contact with the creators of this project. They have informed me that the e-mail address that was posted for e-mails wasn't correct. They have only received "6 e-mails"!!!! Here's the new one: kontakt@gualagon.de I have corrected it above now as well. PLEASE by all means if you have already sent them an e-mail then send them another one, because it most likely wasn't received. If you haven't yet sent them one then PLEASE don't hesitate to do so!! On a good note they have also informed me that they have decided to publish the soundtrack themselves including an English booklet and are even considering placing English subtitles on the audio play!!!! More fantastic news is that there will be more of those great CGI visuals coming!!!! UPDATE: To save the trouble of e-mailing them you can just post a comment to them on this link[it's free to post and you don't have to join anything] and we'll make sure that they get them!!!!: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/20 ... -gualagon/

That's great news about the English booklet, and the possibility of actual English subs is even better news! I'll pass along another email to them after I get home from work.
