I don't think there's anything indicating an 'o' in the name. I have the AIP presskit for the US release of YOG and it calls the monster 'Kameoba'... so I assume that 'Kamoeba' is just a fan misspelling of that version. (BTW, AIP called the giant crab 'Ganimes').
