I'll be skipping it, just like the US remake.
Can't wait to pick up the real movie on DVD though.

Meh. I don't see how this can have a sequel. Its like making a sequel to Jaws (and we all know how that turned out. )

The Host 2 might work - however, like many of you have said, the first one didn't leave any room for a sequel. Maybe now the creature'll be an even bigger monster....
And yes - D-War is a good example of how far Korea's gotten in regards to SFX.
Battle Royale is still on track for release next year. Apparently, things are being kept silent until the trailer hits next spring. "The Condemned" was produced just last year, while Battle Royale has been in limbo since 2001.
Casshern is on hold, apparently because the studio wants to see how good Cyborg 009 does....which is another movie that has fallen under the radar.
"Returner 2:Reedeemer" was ditched, as was it's apparent american tie in.
Oldboy....hmmm....I heard Tarantino would helm that one, then that the original director would handle that one.....but I haven't heard much about it since.

After the media attempted to scapegoat the whole Virginia Tech thing earlier this year on Oldboy, I wouldn't be surprised if the US remake doesn't happen at all. That might be the only good thing to ever come from media finger-pointing.

Yeah...I wondered that too....He doesn't go around on a shooting frenzy either, rather a silent one-on-one torture session with those who wronged him....
I'm surprised they pinned that on Oldboy and not Battle Royale, even when there's absolutely no point in doing so - the media just wants to look right.

Maybe they'll get some of these remakes right...not all US remakes of Asian films are bad. I like The Ring and The Departed.
