i have the German version- it contains a 60 minute (or so) widescreen version dubbed in German, and then the standard US fullscreen version. kind of cool.

The Action Channel played YONGARY: MONSTER FROM THE DEEP quite a bit four years ago or so. The print opens with the MGM lion, but cuts out the original AIP-TV logo (music plays against a black screen for about 10 seconds).
However, it is the best print of the film I have ever seen-

MGM's transfer of YONGARY was made from AIP's 35mm 'scope interpositive, which AIP had cut to the American version and used to create the cropped 16mm elements that were in turn used when selling the film to television. MGM contacted the Koreans about the original version and was told all elements had been "terminated." So the old interpositive is the only known 35mm YONGARY element in existance.
MGM also found elements for a YONGARY trailer. Perhaps AIP considered a theatrical release, or maybe it was created chiefly for use at trade shows.
