Mighty Joe Young (remake of Son of Kong).

I think Kong could hold up his own full time series (I kinda wish he did have a lot more films)

Mighty Joe Young wasn't close to being a SoK remake.

And yes, you've listed all the Kong films cept for the animated "The Mighty Kong" that was put out straight to video by Warner Bros. in 1998.

I seem to remember reading somewhere back in the day that Toho was interested in doing other King Kong movies, but ultimately didn't because they didn't have rights to use the character or something... any truth to this??

I know they wanted to do another G v. Kong or G v. Mechanikong for Heisei but negotiations about use of the character eliminated that possibility.

Yes, yes, Megaloman, everything was better when you were growing up, everything's crap now. You don't need to remind us every time we mention how a new version would be nice.

except you never mention WHY a new version would be nice? because of the new effects? the new story? better actors?

nope, none of that is mentioned, just "it'd be cool to see a remake".

gotta do better than that.

I'd like to see them fight again, but not a remake. Or a sequel. Just start from scratch.

Remakes are stupid. I dont get why people need to see the same thing twice.
