I am far and away a FCTW fan as opposed to a WotG fan. Frankenstein has a little bit of a clunky narrative on paper, in that the appearance of Baragon has no direct connection to Frankenstein, and the two plot threads aren't interwoven as carefully as they might have been, but the human characters are written with clearer motivations, the actors are much more invested in what they're doing, and the atmosphere is far more effective.
WotG aims for an emotional impact that it never comes close to achieving, at least for this viewer, whereas FCTQ gets to me every time.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.
