Anguirus23, Right, if the Allies lost WW2, those governments involved would have been tried for War Crimes... it's easy to point the finger at the losers. War is about mass murder, no matter the justification. The Victors own the history, and its usually not objective. I am not saying that none of this happened, or that no one was to blame -- I am just being the Devil's Advocate for looking at the issues from all sides, without prejudice.
We KNOW that GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH was not Anti-American, but if you looked at the US Media after the film was released in Japan, it was one of the biggest stories out there -- they even interviewed American WW2 veterans who were ENRAGED! News commentators were saying "This movie is not getting my $5.00!" etc. It was a somewhat well-reported controversy in the States in 1992.
"And I know perfectly well that war crimes are committed by all, including the victors. Germany's and Japan's during World War II are without precedent. "
Killing millions of innocents is as bad as thousands, hundreds, tens or one -- precedent or not. Can you say Dresden? Also, look at Stalin's Soviet Union, or the Genocide against the Palestinians today (and the prison camp exterminations by Sharon in the 1970s). China... Africa... The list of human attrocities marches on.
We both agree these acts are horrible, but I only blame regimes who were directly responsible, not the decendents of those whose regimes are long buried.
I for one have said my piece, and you have yours... let's move on, because there is really nothing more to be said. All of us should look at everything with an objective eye, and decide for ourselves.
