Yeah, with the string of pretty swell late-night toku shows we've had in the past couple of years (Garo, Sh15uya, Cutie Honey the Live), I'm definitely still looking forward to this. Like I've said, we have NO CONTEXT for the pictures we've seen thus far. How can we judge like that?

The "Kamen Rider Ripoff" looks less like a Kamen Rider and more like an oooolllllldschool Japanese demon, straight out of classical paintings and woodcuts to me. I think that jives with DaiMajin's aesthetic pretty well and I enjoy the way Japanese shows somehow managed to blend high drama and comdey really well together. Like Iron King, Cutie Honey the Live or Bio Planet WoO - both have some very silly moments mixed with lots of deadly serious ones. I forget, did you like The Host, MFW? DaiMajin Kannon doesn't look terribly kiddiefied to me at all. I can't imagine why it would be, given that it is a late-night series.
