ok, it's much better this way, but there are still too many flaws in the movie to make it really "good". the end sequence with the volcano just drags on too long. and why would they pick two prehistoric reptiles that really can't fight very well? and then make a nearly immovable puppet for the rhamphoryncus to do battle- even The Giant Claw, La Kakonia moved better than this thing.
there are some really nice shots of the plesiosaurus, and the characters are all pretty engaging, but the movie just never kicks into high gear until the last 10 minutes.
the music, while nice, really doesn't help out the movie at all- no sense of menace or anything, even when you know the beast is going to attack. i mean, can you imagine JAWS with a 70s rock song while it attacks, instead of the the ominous theme?
another problem is the title- MYSTERY of the Dinosaur and Monster Bird would have been better, since the titular creatures really don't do much (well, considering how they looked, it's understandable).
having said all that, i still enjoyed it way more than i ever did. it's no MAGIC SERPENT or even LAST DINOSAUR, but it's not bad.

I haven't actaully seen the widescreen subbed version yet. I saw this as a kid and I haven't seen it since, so I bought the same version that I saw on TV (usually the dubbing is good, but not on this one.) As a kid, this movie was great. I still like it though.
