Wasn't there a movie made by Toho called "Dagora" or "Dagara" or something like that? I think it was about a space monster. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Dogora? Yeah it's a film about a giant space blob that eats carbon. I haven't seen it though.

Dogora is probably one of my favorite non-G Toho sci-fi films. The human drama is actually very entertaining and there are some very awesome effects shots of Dogora. It's a perfect example of Tsuburaya's ingenuity. I highly recommend at least renting the film. It's on DVD from Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock.
