I think it was the 2001 update at least....
hard to tell because it definately was the korean release (had korean subtitles)
but im pretty sure it was the 2001 version as I've heard the 1999 version is VERY hard to come by...

What a BAD movie! I mean, P freakin U....! I cannot think of worse acting I've seen in a kaiju movie to date...at least not one that truly attempted to take itself seriously...oh and i did not like the Yonggary does King Kong 70s version roar...
but there were a couple of upsides
the jetpack battle scene was not nearly as bad in the FX dept as everyone had hyped it to be...it was bad, but no worse than the other parts...
Yonggary was basically EXACTLY what I wanted GINO to be, quick, agile, able to avoid attacks, but strong and tough too...
but i was unhappy with the way Cykor was put down, although the battle was a good one, so it's tough to complain about...
Anything that didn't require acting (basically, the monster scenes) was REALLY fun

Bottom line (for me)...this is the PERFECT movie to watch if you're in the mood for it. A poorly acted, fun monster-romp...
It's a great movie to MST3K, and even though the effects are pretty bad, you get used to them, and it's not like i haven't seen worse...
Bad movie, good fun!
