Hiroshi Abe (who played Tsukuyomi in Yamato Takeru and Mitsuo Katagiri in Godzilla 2000) is in this film!

Also note that the monster sequence is fairly bloody. I wouldn't recommend showing it to little kids expecting something like Godzilla! If submitted to the MPAA, the film would get an "R."

Some Info on 'Moon Over Tao' with spoilers:

The Makaraga (the kaiju) is around a little longer then 15 minutes, 20 I supposed and he is briefly shown in flashbacks before then. Many people may wine that the Makaraga is under 25 feet, but the dialog makes it clear that the more living creatures it consumes the larger it gets and the flashbacks show a much larger beast. Not to mentioned that its 'larva' stage quickly killed and ate multiple bandits before reaching its Earthly height. Also, the Makaraga isn't really killed, merely seal back into its small imprisoned stone form by the title device of the film.

Further more, when the Moon Over Tao is activated, a ghostly and beautiful alien goddess appears to send the Makaraga away and she's about 50-60 feet in comparison. Unfortunately, the credits and all other info I've found on this character labels her as 'The Fat Goddess' However, this doesn't mean we get a long climatic battle between the two giants, since she is appears for a minute, but we get a good look regardless, unlike the ancient forms of the Makaraga.
