7

although 2 comes very close

i dunno, i just fell in love with GxMG and i feel like its the best millenium movie of all of them...yes i did just say that its better than gmk...i just think that if there was no SOS, GxMG would be even BETTER because its a victory for the japanese but not a total victory...like "hey we beat godzilla, but it cost a lot and wasnt for good"

but the fighting in GxMG is amazing...i just personally am a huge fan of the original big showdown between godzilla and his mechanical doppleganger...

but yeah 7 gets my vote

The all-time greatest G/MG battle was The Showdown Between the Three Giant Monsters in Okinawa from "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla '74". Definitely Godzilla's bloodiest battle... great Masaru Sato music thumping. Hell, that battle's so bad-ass Godzilla has to impersonate Sonny Chiba! And Mechagodzilla was never more evil than here.

I would have to say #1....I remember that scene so well as a kid...2 Godzillas, fighting in the amazing oil refinery spectacle (Say what you want about Nakano, but he is the master when it comes to fire/pyro!), and then the evil alien leader hitting the switch revealing MG. Short scene, but it's impact was one of the most powerful scenes in the franchise's history. #2 battle of the same film was also very good, but Godzilla transforming into a magnet was a bit much and kind of hokey, and King Ceasar was one of the most useless G allies ever.

#3 Was also very good, namely due to everyone's favorite guilty cult pleasure...

#4 and #5: Normally I am not a big fan at all of beam battles, but these 2 battles were very entertaining, and the finale where Godzilla, after taking terrible punishment, comes back and roasts MG with his red plasma breath....very good stuff. :Big-th-up:

#6 and #7: :kitty: zzzzzzzzzzzzz....
#8: See comment above^

has to be the ones in the showa series....i hated the ones in the millenium series. Godzilla came off as being so weak in tokyo sos. I have never seen a more beaten godzilla before and i didnt like it at all. Not only that but having the mothra larvae annoyed me during the fight since mothras' involvement in the movies is always repeated (mothra dies, egg hatches, song is played, twin larvae surprise, string against goji, goji loses).

yes i enjoyed tokyo sos and its prequel but the battles dont quite measure up with some of the "epic" battles from the showa series.

I love the Goji vs. MG/Titanosaurus battle.

#1. That one stuck with me through my childhood. Such that I used it in my own mock GINO/Mecha-GINO battle:

It's a close call between the final battles of the two Showa Mechagodzilla films. I'm going to have to go with Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Titanosaurus, that may be my favorite Godzilla battle of all time. I found the heisei MechaG fights kind of boring, and while the Kiryu fight was entertaining, it would rock a lot more if Godzilla himself wasn't so inactive. I have yet to see Tokyo SOS.

While TOMG had an awesome battle with Godzilla going it alone against two adversaries, the first MG was the best. MG seemed unbeatable in much the same way Ghidrah did when it first appeared.
