I like Versus. And Sky High. And Midnight Meat Train is great. I think Kitamura is a very good director.

I love Sky High, Azumi and Aragami. Versus is a good movie to but the weakest of those four. I also loved Midnight Meat Train but have only watched it once. On the other hand, I thought Alive sucked.

The thing is, it is a bad movie, but I still find it better than all of those movies on my list. FW is dead in the middle of my rankings at number 16.

I'm kinda sorry to put LP's Godzilla on here, because I didn't dislike it, but I'm just not crazy about it. If I got rid of the two American films, Godzilla 2000 and Son of Godzilla would fill the top two slots. Again, I don't dislike either of those, but there are 18 ~ 20 Godzilla movies I like more.

Curious, what is it you hate about Tokyo SOS?

I feel bad for this one dude that just posted as he said SpaceGodzilla is his favorite movie of the franchise. Not sure how to respond to that really, so I just said "Glad you enjoy it."

Tokyo SOS is so boring. The characters are underwhelming, poorly developed, and especially Yoshito is pathetic as the lead character. I think the plot grinds to a halt once the 30+ minute battle begins in the middle third of the movie. Only the exciting final ten minutes or so grab me, but that's too little too late.

One of the biggest fan criticisms of Godzilla vs. Mothra ('92) is how derivative it is of earlier Mothra films. I'd like to know why SOS gets a pass.

I like SOS and GXMG. I'd agree about the characters in SOS being underdeveloped, but the other stuff in the film works well enough for me to enjoy it. Mothra looks awesome.

And yes, Heisei Mothra sucks. She's awful. I think there some plush dolls of her that could actually be the prop they used in the film, which is shame because I enjoyed the lava form of Battra.

Well, to each his own. Tokyo SOS bores me so much. On the other hand, I think Godzilla vs. Mothra is a middle of the road entry. (Or maybe a little under par.) It runs long, the special effects aren't very good, Godzilla plays a supporting role... Look, I know the common complaints, and I know it's not a good movie. But I'm able to enjoy it in spite of all that. And for what it's worth, I don't think the main human plot is all that bad either.

That's cool. For me, the worst a Godzilla film can be is boring, and that is ultimately my problem with a lot of the movies in my top 10 worst list.

Yes, even GFW, GXM GvsSG and GvM 92, films I almost always try and tear apart have things that make them watchable. GxM in particular since I am so glad they brought back Rodan's Meganulon. Also the thought of firing a blackhole at Godzilla is so ridiculous that I like it. Also the shot where Tsujimori rides Godzilla in the ocean is a first for the Godzilla series and really well done.

My list of worst G films (in terms of my own personal enjoyment of them, not if they're well-made or badly made films (otherwise, films like Godzilla Final Wars & GvsMegalon would be up there). I only could up with 5, as I usually find something that I like in most of the films, even when they're poorly made (hence why I *LOVE* GvsGigan):
