What are the first three Godzilla movies you guys ever watched? Using the titles they had at the time I saw them, mine were

1. Godzilla 1985
2. Godzilla vs The Thing
3. Godzilla vs Monster Zero

Godzilla vs. Gigan and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla were almost definitely the first two I saw. The third one, not too sure. It was likely either Monster Zero, King Kong vs Godzilla, or Godzilla vs. Biollante.

First was Godzilla King of the Monsters. No clue how long it took before seeing more, but pretty sure I saw KOTM a few times before learning of the existence of more Godzilla movies.

Next two were Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero, followed very shortly by Godzilla Vs. Mothra (1964).

I recall seeing different bits of Godzilla movies on T.V. and 8mm, but never anything complete until "Monster Zero" around 1974 (when I was a six year old kid). Honestly, I don't even remember which G-films I completely saw next! I do know that "Gigantis" was the last Showa G-feature I viewed when I finally bought the VHS in 1989.

Three movies I remember the most from way way back when were Son of Godzilla, King Kong vs Godzilla, and Godzilla 1985.

The first film I saw was Godzilla 1985, which now sits pretty low on my list, but back in the 80s when I wanted to rent the movie with "the dinosaur on the cover" it blew my mind. I couldn't believe the dinosaur was so big he could smash buildings.. After raving about the film my Dad said "you know there are more of these" !!! So up until 98 I watched every Showa release I could find. There was a lot of misinformation to sift through and I was unaware of a fandom. It wasn't until the Trendmaster toys came out that I discovered life existed after 85, so I didn't see any of therest of the Heisei films until after G2K. I believe the 2nd and 3rd film I saw were Mechagodzilla and Gigan which still live in my top 5

The first one I saw was GODZILLA VS. BIOLLANTE (what kid could say no to that awesome VHS cover!?), then I got GODZILLA VS. THE SEA MONSTER for Christmas. After that, I *think* it was the Holy-5 on TNT (GKOTM, MvsG, MZ, GR & TOMG), then more on VHS (MEGALON, KKVSG, GRA, G'85, that horrible edited GODZILLA VS COSMIC MONSTER from Goodtimes!)

Mine would be:

1. Godzilla 1985 - Caught on WPIX-11 New York one Sunday Afternoon.
2. Terror of Mechagodzilla - Father rented for me from local videostore.
3. Godzilla, King of the Monsters - Caught on TNT, the lead movie in a Monstervision marathon.

As a result of #3, I also know #4 - 6 are MvG, MZ, and Revenge. ^_^

EDIT: I just realized, this is wrong! The REAL first three are:

1. Godzilla vs. Megalon
2. Godzilla 1985
3. Terror of Mechagodzilla

I first saw Megalon years before G85, but it left no impression on me. I can't believe I forgot! ^_^()

Mothra vs. Godzilla, Monster Zero, and Godzilla, King of the Monsters.
A result of a MONSTERVISION marathon, methinks (although I think I saw KOM first, I'm just saying 3rd because I know after I saw MZ I got a KOTM vhs tape).

I saw the first two on TNT one night, and I remember being so upset that my parents wouldn't let me stay up to watch Monster Zero. Little did I know I would one day own multiple copies of the movie.

... I have no idea what the third one I saw was. I saw several more on TV and rented before I got my third VHS (for a birthday, I think):

- Godzilla, King of the Monsters!

I think Godzilla's Revenge was my introduction to Godzilla, but the first I owned (and certainly the first complete Godzilla movie I ever saw) was Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster. I think Gigan and the original Mechagodzilla followed.

Not sure exactly which one I saw first, but my earliest memories are of Godzilla vs Megalon, Godzilla: KotM, and Godzilla 1985. Also had a tape made by my grandma with Godzilla vs the Sea Monster, Son of Godzilla, and Ghidrah from TBS's Day of the Dinosaurs marathon that I watched religiously. Back then it felt like I'd never run out of new Godzilla films to find.

I remember my first introduction to Godzilla was somewhere from 1994 to 1996. I would have been five to seven years old. I saw bits and pieces of Mothra vs. Godzilla, Monster Zero, and Godzilla's Revenge (in that order) on the TNT network one night. It was just whenever I flipped the channel there over the course of several hours, not seeing all of the movies in their entirety, but I remember being wowed by the sight of the monsters. I saw Godzilla's fight with the adult Mothra, the end of the Planet X bout with Godzilla dancing, and Godzilla wrecking things. I don't remember what, if anything, I actually saw from Godzilla's Revenge but I remember reading which movies were airing that night in the TV Guide.

That wasn't when I became a Godzilla fan, though. That happened after I saw GINO'98 on the big screen when I was nine. The next time my mom took me to the local Video Express, I rented Terror of Mechagodzilla. I would go on to rent a lot of other Godzilla movies from that store but I'm not sure in which order. I do remember my brothers and my next-door neighbor also wanting to check out the older Godzilla movies that summer and in one weekend we watched Mothra vs. Godzilla (my younger brother's choice), King Kong vs. Godzilla (my neighbor's choice), Godzilla's Revenge (my youngest brother's choice), and Godzilla vs. Gigan (my choice).

Did TNT do Monstervision before 1990?

I first got into Godzilla in 87 when one of my classmates in Kindergarten brought in his Godzilla 6inch vinyl. I then fell in love with the idea and that is when my dad rented for me every Monday for three weeks those trio of movies I posted above. We would rent more movies from Blockbuster and Video Factory (and the occasional rerent) until they were showing the movies on TNT and TBS on every Labor Day and Memorial Day, with them on sometimes at other times and then we would just record them when they aired so I could watch them at any time. However, I don't recall spending any of my days off from school watching Godzilla movies until the very early 90s.

Wow, what a start

I know the first two were the Fukuda island films. I don't know which was first though, I think it was Sea Monster. As for the third, they sort of get jumbled up. I definitely watched some more than others. King Kong vs. Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Gigan and Mechagodzilla come to mind. I grew up with a lot of the Fukuda films (and the Hanna-Barbera series).

Godzilla vs. the Thing in 1975. (In a movie theater also) The second and third ones I'm not so sure about. I just remember watching Godzilla movies and stuff on Creature Double Feature every Saturday after that.

My first movie was G85.

I don't know the order after that.

third I'm struggling remember...I think it was either Mothra vs Godzilla or Monster Zero

Terror of Mechagodzilla in 1986, followed by Godzilla vs Monster Zero soon after and then...hmm...I'm not really sure. Might have been Godzilla vs the Smog Monster.
