Best Screenwriter?

Amongst all the people who wrote the Godzilla series, which screenwriter do you think was the best?

For me, I think the best and my favorite is Shinichi Sekizawa. While GvB is my favorite film in the series, Sekizawa wrote a lot of my personal runners-up (Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah, Monster Zero, Ebirah, Son of Godzilla, and at least the treatment for GvMG'74) so it seems a pretty easy choice. ^_^

How about you?

Shinichi Sekizawa, who really had as much to do with molding the Godzilla series into what it is as Honda, Tsuburaya, and Tanaka.

Sinichi Sekizawa. Is this even a contest?

Sekizawa. All other answers are wrong. Clearly. Hahaha.

Sekizawa is clearly the most consistent. I would also argue he never wrote a truly bad Godzilla movie. Something you can't say for the other screenwriters in the franchise's history.

Apart from Sekizawa, I feel compelled to acknowledge Takeo Murata as well. He co-wrote Gojira, GRA, and Rodan, and wrote Half Human. Dunno how good that last one is (I haven't seen it), but he does have an impressive pedigree otherwise. Definitely a short one, though. I wonder why he didn't work on more kaiju movies.

Kimura followed closely by Sekizawa. Neither have been rivaled in the genre... ever.

Sekizawa is the obvious one, but I'm going to go with Takeshi Kimura.
Because of Matango, Frankenstein Conquers the World, King Kong Escapes, and Godzilla vs. Hedorah. :D
Too many of my favorites in one place.
