Spanish filmmaker Jonathan Belles from Producciones451 is working on a new documentary that will be (hopefully) released during summer 2014: "Godzilla & Hiroshima: The Dawn of Kaiju Eiga".

The documentary will include interviews with critics, experts, historians, etc and will tell all about the link between the Kaiju Eiga as a genre and the Hiroshima/Nagasaki atomic bombs. Also, it will explore how the genre started and how audiences reacted to it during its birth.

There is a lot more to be revealed, so expect some surprises regarding this promising documentary :) .

For the moment, to keep you informed, this is the official english website of the documentary:

Please, could someone whose native language is english confirm this?:

Which title sounds more correct:

The Dawn of Kaiju Eiga
or
The Dawn of THE Kaiju Eiga?

Someone can correct me if they know better, but I think you could get away with either one. Kaiju eiga could be taken as a singular or plural noun, so it depends on your preference. If you were to translate kaiju eiga into English, which would you prefer: "The Dawn of the Monster Movie" (as a genre), "The Dawn of the Monster Movies," or "The Dawn of Monster Movies" (all the movies after and including this one)? It's your call to make. I hope this makes sense.
