What if GINO was still around?

Call me crazy, but after re-watching Godzilla: The Series I began to wonder what if GINO movies were still made today? I am fully aware of the enormous hate this iguana has towards it. Yet I believe Devlin and Emmerich's film was a necessity in the world of Godzilla. Godzilla almost drifted afar as he grew older and I don't even think Toho knew where it was going as a whole, so TriStar's "disaster" film was the perfect example of a NO-GO.

So what if GINO was around today? What if GINO really became the name of this lizard? In the film (as memory serves), they dub the monster "Godzilla" because of the Japanese fisherman uttering "Gojira" under shock. What if they made a sequel to this film, and in the sequel they discover the skeleton of the original Godzilla. Thus the obvious becoming apparent that the monster iguana wasn't actually Godzilla. Yet since everyone recognized him as Godzilla, they would make official his new name: GODZILLA IN NAME ONLY (GINO). With that said, what if a plethora of GINO films were released and the cartoon was never made into a cartoon, but as films instead? Do you think GINO could have grown into a loveable character if he were around still?

 This all might be me digging for the wrong gold, but I thought this to be a tad bit interesting.

the idea of GINO with a french accent is really appealing to me though...especially since he is a wuss and doesn't fight.

He needs to be the guy drinking the coffee and asking "You call this coffee?"

I think even if there had been a GINO sequel, that he wouldn't still be around.I definitely don't think they'd make a distinction between this Godzilla and the Toho Godzilla.

I also don't think a GINO series would have lasted that long, honestly. Maybe it would have made it as far as film 2 and that would have been it. I guess the cartoon might have been around a little longer, and that would have been cool.

I have this idea for a sequel to the 1998 movie, in which a male Godzilla-like creature (who look like a giant version of the babies Godzilla) came to New York looking for his wife (GINO or Zilla) and kids. When he saw humans cutting the dead body of his wife and kids, he goes nuts and go on a rampage toasting and roasting anyone stupid enough to try to stop him. He only stop his rampage when he was reunited with his surviving kid and return to the sea. I named the sequel, Kingzilla, and this guy does act like the King Of The Monsters though out most of the movie.
