HB had to pay to use the roar so instead they casted Ted Cassidy (Scooby-Doo) for its Japanese airing I believe Cassidy's roar was removed and Toho's roar was inserted.

As for future releases. That can be anybodys guess. It has been years since their last release so I wouldn't count on it (the same goes for their release of King Kong's animated series) but who knows. If you are desperate to find the remaining episodes, they are out there.

Indeed, portioning out pieces of a character for licensing doesn't sound right at all. In fact, Toho is known to be quite a stickler about not having their characters misrepresented in any format. They even had Pipeworks double check with them for every monster's move list just to make sure they weren't "out of character".

You're telling me that the same studio couldn't have cared less if the animated Godzilla only matched the screen version in the most subtle of terms?
