both Godzilla and Angilas' roars show up in episode #6 of Mazinga Z (I believe it's called "Dr. Hell's Two Giant Robot Monsters"). I also think August has said Toho licensed out the sound effects on occasion.

I prefer Angilas myself. (I even thought "Anguillas" was a nifty spelling.)

Just like I usually pronounce "Ghidorah" as "Ghidrah," because I was raised on the latter for a long time. (Or the same way it was pronounced in the English version of Monster Zero; "GHEE-do-rah.") Today's pronunciation, "Guh-DOH-rah" is absolutely retarded and really grinds my gears.

It's really very simple. We all know the deal when Japanese pronounce the letter "r". The "u" is silent.

Well, since we're sharing our preferred pronunciations of monster names, I generally tend to go with "Angilas" instead of "Anguirus," and I find the pronunciation "Guh-DOOR-uh" to be absolutely appalling. "GEEH-doh-rah" all the way.

I'm in agreement with Goji 84 on Monster Zero--that's what I'll always call it, though I must admit that The Great Monster War is pretty honkin' as well. It may be worth noting that I always refer to the main theme as the "Great Monster War March." :P

^ There's also another familiar roar right before that, possibly belonging to an Ultra monster.
