Godzilla films with newly added sound effects

I ran into Kyle Gilmore's videos on youtube recently. He basically takes clips from Godzilla films and adds new soundtracks and sound effects to them. I feel like from these, you can really see how these films would be if they were more Americanized. Take a look at his work and discuss:

Godzilla Final Wars: Godzilla's battle at the South Pole

Godzilla Final Wars: Four way battle

Godzilla vs. Destroyer: The final battle (original, then redub)

Godzilla vs King Ghidorah: Godzilla's appearance in Hokkaido (original, then redub)

Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla: Godzilla's revival

Godzilla vs. Mothra: Godzilla vs. JGSDF

Aside from the first Final Wars clip, I found no improvement. The altered sound effects are iffy at best, and the replacement of Ifukube's music with more "Hollywood"-sounding material certainly didn't help; it's a similar effect to what was done with King Kong vs. Godzilla--it takes away a lot of the distinctive character and leaves it sounding totally generic rather than improved. But that's just my opinion.

No! No no no no no no.

I'd go on about how much these blow, but I'd probably break CT's language censor.

I dug the Final Wars changes, with the minor exception being that it was too dark at some points.

I just don't know why you'd change some of the other things.

I don't think the "epic style" fits any of those movies anyway.

"epic"... ugh! I'm growing increasingly tired of EVERYTHING having to be "epic" in order to be exciting or cool. Things can be epic and be totally awesome. But it seems more and more popular now to force "epic"ness out of anything and everything in an effort to make it more exciting than it really is. You want epic? Go watch Errol Flynn and his horde of men fighting a shipfull of angry sailors aboard two full scale sailing ships in The Seahawk. Go watch Lawrence of Arabia. is more epic than any of those clips could hope to be.

Plus it doesn't help that he did quite an effective job sucking the uniquely "Toho" flavor right out of those clips. Toho films have a distinct feel to them. Even as a kid, if i saw a clip or preview of a Toho fx movie I knew absolutely nothing about, I instantly knew it was Toho and that I wanted to see it. Making it more "Holllywood" destroys a huge piece of what makes these movies so enjoyable and enduring in the first place.

Eventually you do grow the hell up and learn to accept these movies for what they are.

People who think they need to "improve" these films by adding new sound effects or music baffle me.
