John, now we're getting into stuff that you need to own the soundtracks for.
Cool with me.
All of the songs from the 1970's (and "The Monster March") were also available as re-recorded, longer record versions with alternate verses and lyrics. For example, the full version of "The Monster March" has three verses: the two heard in the movie and a verse heard in the Japanese trailer. "Godzilla & Jet Jaguar Punch Punch Punch" also has three verses, while the record version for "Save the Earth" has much more of a bombastic, pop-like flair to it that I actually like very much.
On top of that the B sides of these records also have alternate tie-in songs with titles like "Punpunpun" (for Godzilla's Revenge), "Attack Hedora", "Down with Gigan", "Attack Megalon" and "Get Mechagodzilla!". "Get Mechagodzilla!" is one of my favorites, since it mixes in Sato's Mechagodzilla theme into the song.
It's a shame that people dismiss all this fun stuff because they think it's too corny.
