I think "man-in-a-rubber-suit" is a better choice

"jerky"

the "jerky stop-motion" comments always remind me of the "crushing cardboard buildings" comments about Godzilla movies. anyone who's ever tried to do stop-motion animation knows how hard it is to get a semblance of smooth motion.

me, i think it looks cool.

I'm going to say I prefer the look of suits and miniatures but I'm not going to knock stop motion at all!

Every FX technique has its own set of pros and cons. CGI can still look like crap, but in some cases it can look absolutely incredible.

Ideally, FX movies would use a combination of techniques. To me, this is why Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 are STILL some of the most impressive FX movies: they know which techniques to use for which shots, and never rely on one or the other for an entire movie, or even a majority of FX shots.

While we're giving shout-outs to awesome stop-motion, I'd like to give props to the bitchin' stop-motion work in Robocop 1 and 2, complete with motion blur! "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!"
