I'm only ever brave enough to do an "All-Time Favorites" list for the entire Godzilla series, because anything more and I'll begin to lose my damn-hair lol! Besides, to me anyway, that's the only way that matters, in terms of how one perceives the totality of their attachment to these flicks. In MANY cases among the 28 original Japanese Godzilla movies, I find myself labeling this one, or that one "critic-proof", because my child-like zeal is so strong. I find it often IMPOSSIBLE to remain totally objective sometimes, and to be honest, thank God for that! Anyway, I make it a custom of excluding the original Gojira/Godzilla King of the Monsters! from the rankings, because the older I get, the more I see that package-deal as standing a part from the rest of the pack, "complete and contained, a masterpiece that stands alone" (RIP Roger Ebert). I also exclude Roland Emmerich's colossal farce of a train-wreck for, well, need I say more? This round, I also move to exclude Gareth Edward's awesome-little movie (seriously, I LOVED it, and that's all I have to say about that HAHA!!), because I think I need some more time before I consider ranking it among the Toho canon. I'm not sure I really want to either, to be quite honest...oh well, here is my revised personal assessment of twenty-seven Godzilla sequels. Enjoy :mrgreen:

Unlike the list I wrote up last year, this list feels more "right" to me. The Top 10 here really does represent my ten favorite Godzilla movies, although the order tends to shift around a little bit. The bottom five or six are movies I actually dislike. Like the top ten the order shifts a little, but these six have been pretty consistently my least favorite for at least a decade. The middle ranges from films I like but don't feel strong about, to films I'm fairly "Meh" towards.

I think it’s really hard to put all thirty in the order I like them, so I’ll just list them (chronologically) in tiers.

Some films bounce back and forth between the top two groups, but generally these are the Godzilla movies I have in constant rotation.

^ As a diehard fan I can’t consider any of these unwatchable, but I’d definitely rather *not* watch them. These almost never crack my rotation. (Sometimes Mechagodzilla II sneaks in. Raids Again and Revenge are Showa Godzilla, so I revisit those a little more often.) I almost always only watch these in conjunction with watching the rest of the Godzilla movies.

This was tougher than I thought it was going to be. It's really hard to rank certain movies above others. I know roughly which movies fall into my top 10, bottom 10, and which ones are somewhere in the middle but the order is pretty tough to pin down. The original Godzilla, Mothra vs Godzilla, and Monster Zero are definitely my top 3, but it's tough for the remaining 7 entries for my top 10.

Not gonna repost the full list but that put G2014 up to #3 and Biollante down to #4, some shakeups in the middle of the list...but the bottom 8 are still exactly the same, and the top 9 are unchanged aside from 2014 and Biollante.

Godzilla Final Wars [great if you want to tally Godzillas feats but I probably need to rewatch it since its been almost 10 years since Ive felt the urge to play it though I own the new blu ray, Ill probably wait until the releases in september come out so can finish rewatching chronologically though the order on the mire's dont matter mostly
. The only reason it's not lower is that I like its ambition which sounds fun on paper since its basically my favorite game Monster of Monsters set on Earth.]
29. Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) [One redeeming factor is the near invulnerability it gave Godzilla in swimming through magma, but him surviving the volcano in 84 did that already for the most part]

Because I did not enjoy it as I did with most of the series. It doesn't help that when Godzilla was cocooned up at the end it looks like he's in a straight-jacket.
