Pretty much all of the above.

Another note, due to the success of the original Mothra film, Toho knew they still had it with the monster formula thus, decided to bring back Godzilla. The question was though, who would he fight....Something everybody could answer though.

My only criticism of King Kong vs. Godzilla is the ape suit. Other than that, great movie it was.
