You know, I thought of this insane idea. It would be hilarious if they decided to go through with this for the next film. Though I doubt it, it may be finally an original idea to do instead of bringing back reused monsters.

I am surprised I have never heard of Godzilla Island. I guess they never brought it over here.

No surprise on all the Godzilla Island updates - it was just released onto DVD. There's even new Hyper Hobby exclusive versions of the Firefighter and Medical Jet Jaguars, as well as a Black (Showa) Mechagodzilla from the series. Keith posted a shot of the Godzilla Island "cast" a while ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Asuka Fortress was conceived to capitalize on the giant robot craze at that time, namely Mobile Suit Gundam (which premiered that same year), Battle Fever Robo (from Battle Fever J) or just about any Super Robot from the same period! :wink:
