My heart sinks. There's not been a week that has gone by in years that I haven't listened to his music. It's almost been a soundtrack to my life, which has been much richer for his contributions.

The music still lives on.

Thankfully, his music will forever live on. Still it is sad to see him go.

And here I thought I was having a relatively good day, only to be thoroughly brought down by this news.
It's terribly tragic to see him go. And with him goes the last surviving connection to the original Godzilla. But we must also look at it from another perspective. The man lived 91 years of a long and happy life. He made a resounding name for himself as a true maestro, contributing outstandingly written and conducted music scores to dozens of classic movies. The man may have left this world now, but in his plethora of masterwork known the world over, he is forever immortalized. His legacy will never disappear, much like the Godzilla character himself. In fact, Godzilla, one of the most recognizable and collectively-known cinematic characters in history, was brought to life by Mr. Ifukube's signature theme music and unforgettable vocal roar. Akira Ifukube breathed definitive life into Godzilla, and in essence, lives on through him in our collective thoughts, our memories, and our hearts.
See you on the other side, Ifukube-san.

I'm too sad to write anything lengthy. All I can say is thank you Akira Ifkube for giving us some of the most unique and beautiful music ever put on film. Many composures today are really not that all different from each other. Ikfube-san was one of kind. RIP

Now all four of the fathers of Godzilla have passed.
Honda
Tanaka
Tsuburaya
Ifukube
Does anyone have that pic of all four of them on the set of Destroy All Monsters with all of the monsters behind them?
