In The Mysterians audio commentary on the R1 and R2 DVDs (recorded in 2001), Kawakita and Shinji Higuchi talked about how they would like to do a remake movie of The Mysterians one day. But this was four years ago, and nothing has happened since then, so it was probably nothing more than wishful speculation. But I'd sure as hell like to see them do it.
