Godzilla's ray is probably his most famous attribute, and it's used quite often (see: Heisei Era).

But what was the best *single* use of that weapon?

IMO, it's in GFW where he blasts... the Sydney Opera House!!! :eek:

From Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah(1991)-after the time travelers' ship is teleported to locale of Godzilla's fight with KG-Godzilla greets them with his patented oral ray blast. Those two jackasses deserved it! :twisted:

/\ Great example. Godzilla did seem to regret what he had to do, just as Shindo knew what would happen and was reassuring him. 'Truly a Japanese moment.

Another candidate: Godzilla, impaled by his quasi-sister's vines, clamps his mouth shut on a blast and fires it through the holes in his skin. The "nuclear pulse" would become a fixture of the Heisei series, but at that moment it was something radically new.

For sheer surprise on the audiences' part (as well as Godzilla's obviously!), i gotta give it to the 'attempt' Godzilla makes in GMK on Yuri and Takada which fails miserably (and painfully) due to the mouth-sized hole left in his shoulder from the exiting Adm. Tachibana sub. Poor Godzilla, did THAT go horribly wrong!

Other than that, the great 'blast off' of Shindo and the finishing touch to the time travelers' ship in vKG are also right up there.
