I'm also not as enthusiastic as some about Mothra vs. Godzilla. It is one of my favorites, but it is a few clicks below the #1 or #2 spots that it most often seems to be afforded. It has a good ensemble, an excellent structure, some beautiful effects, but it's not without its flaws, including the contrived "save the children" business to make it look as though the human characters are still relevant to the story's closing minutes.
I do love it, it's just not top-3 love.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.
