This cross between a Godzilla and a teddy bear is Chibi Godzilla, soon to debut in a children's book and a variety of merch aimed at the very young children of Japan.

Wow, they went from Shin Godzilla to this in just two years? The wheel goes round and round.

^ If WB can market their grim and gritty Batman and produce Lego Batman at the same time there's no reason Toho can't do the same thing with Godzilla! As a matter of fact, I'm surprised that they haven't been doing something like this the whole time. I think they should make a pre-school cartoon with this cute little Godzilla! I'll be interested in seeing how all the other monsters are redesigned.

I haven't really watched any Chibi Godzilla until now. I'd just dismissed it based on the designs and the kiddy premise, but some of the episodes are hilarious and the voice acting is great. It can get pretty warped too.
