I don't know about that, Silver Kamen. Its availability nowadays might be one thing, but I've seen quite a few people call it one of their favourites. For me, it's at least in my top 10 or 15.

Continuity isn't exactly a plus in my book, it's just there. I more or less agree with that assessment you made of the series, though I think the detractors are on equal footing with those of the 70s films and the weaker 50s movies-- even if they are very different flaws.

I'm fine with the Millennium series' lack of continuity. It's their frequent need to refer back to G54 that grows a little annoying. Not that it didn't make sense for GMK or GxMG to do that, but to have 3 films in a row that retell the same story is too much. That side of things could have been handled differently, especially if they were so concerned with establishing alternative universes.

The Millenium Series lack of continuity was lame because they didn't make an effort to make drastically different Godzilla films each time. They could have been in continuity because, minus GMK, they were all pretty much hewing to the same-old same-old.

What if, say, they had made a Godzilla movie set in feudal Japan? In the far future? A universe where there are several Godzillas? If you're gonna experiment with alternate universes then have fun!

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

All the points that have been brought up are more then valid, and I agree with some of them. Especially the one saying that Megaguirus re-wrote complete film history.
