I still don't like that Godzilla "suit". It looks like a 'roided out Geico Gecko.

I'm really surprised Sony never did anything with this. Meaning after GINOs embarassment they could have done a "Hulk" by re booting stuff. And since they were budget conscious so much had already been done design wise that would have reduced cost. Too bad a high level producer couldn't get a woody for Goji (like Chris Lee did) and reuse this stuff. Wouldda taken Kaiju stuff to a new level.

The sea rose as a wall of sharp spines sliced thru the surface. The water boiled and churned as fish of all species floated on their sides, dead. Godzilla, the demon god had emerged.

Interesting take on Godzy. Yeah, I've seen it around for awhile. I dunno. If they were gonna make him so close to the Toho original, why didn't they just give his skin the burnt/charred look?

Though this is 1000x better than GINO (which isn't hard to accomplish), I still don't care for it. For one, the skin texture looks slimey...like a salamander...it may sound like nitpicking, but Godzilla's skin texture is an extremely important part of his look...more so than many may realize (remember the numerous maquettes models that TOHO made with different skin texture designs prior to choosing a final suit design for G54? Even back then, skin texture played a big part in the decision making process of Godzilla's eventual design and look).

Secondly, the dorsal fins are far too small and jagged...they look even worse than the dreaded "Frogzilla/Gonzo-zilla" dorsal fins of the millinium series. And the eyes and head just look...."odd". Can't really find the right words to desribe why, but it looks odd.

Still, at least it somewhat looks like Godzilla (gasp! What a concept!), and it's a shame this didn't get made over the pile of fecal waste dung matter we received from the D&E express, and I am amazed that these clowns still get big scale projects to this day. :puke:

Also, from all pictures, models, and designs I have seen from the Gryphon...YAWN :kitty: Looks very "Blah"....nothing too original or imaginative (looks like you're stereo-typical flying "goblin" creature we've seen countless times in Fantasy films and video games). He would have been a rather mundane and fogettable opponent for Godzilla (ala Megaguirus, Orga, and Monster X).

The more I think about these designs, I imagine how cool it would've been had they gotten the action figure treatment along the lines of the first Jurassic Park. Remember those guys with the "realistic skin"? Man, that would've been sweet. I would've flipped out after finding those at Toys R Us.
