Perception.

The last few Godzilla movies have followed the normal routine. Similar plot, characters, etc. One disadvantage when it comes to watching a movie is the viewer has no control. They're seeing someone else's vision. Yet when it comes to toys, novels, etc...they have the chance to either create their own scenario or imagine it in greater detail than any movie ever could. It's all in the imagination of one's perception.

That's my two cents.

Because when Toho was making a Godzilla movie consecutively for however many years they were using millions to create them. When people don't go to see the movie or buy the DVD's it adds up over awhile. That's when they stepped back and said this isn't worth it right now hence the hiatus. Games can cost a lot to create, but something like a Godzilla one isn't seen on the market every single year.

Welcome to the world of Power Rangers. Not to shift the direction of the topic, but as the series progresses, it just becomes more and more about selling the toys. The rangers get all sorts of bizarre crap that wasn't in the Japanese version, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's primarily to sell the toys. Not to mention they often make tons of toys of vehicles and power ups that don't even appear in the show.

To make this relevant to Godzilla, recall the "Power-Up" kaiju from the Trendmasters line. I own some, but come on, what the hell? How is someone gonna get that armor and weaponry on the monsters, and why would they want to?!
