I'd have to agree. I think he was great in all of his roles to be honest, but I always thought he was especially cool as the bank robber Yoshimura in Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster. He's got that aggravated loner sense about him when forced to endure a sea voyage with three companions against his will, and also gives the impression that he's smart and knows what he's doing. He handles himself so focused yet cool in times of crisis. and Akira Takarada just gave an all-around great performance in this role.

Runners-up would be his roles as sailor Hideto Ogata in Godzilla, journalist Ichiro Sakai in Mothra vs. Godzilla, and astronaut Fuji in Godzilla vs. Monster Zero.
