Hey everyone, since the original script of the US GODZILLA movie has been resurrected so to speak through Todd Tennants efforts and G-FAN doing a piece on the designs of Stan Winston's Godzilla and Probe Bats, I was thinking....could this still get made? With King Kong being somewhat successful and loads of other "remakes" being made (ex: The Wolf Man, Friday the 13th, Creature from the Black Lagoon) is it possible to have someone in Hollywood take notice? Maybe....just maybe.....I had an idea that may seem a little far fetched but here it goes...I e-mailed the Sci Fi Channel asking them about making a documentary of sorts surrounding the outstanding work of Terry Rossio, Ted Elliott (writers) and Stan Winston about the abandoned project. I have not heard a response as of yet, but think that with enough pestering from a lot of us, maybe our voice could be heard. I encourage you all to send them an e-mail asking about this, if of course you would like to see Godzilla's legacy in American filmmaking be more than a giant iguana running scared and laying eggs in NYC. Maybe with the right exposure someone will take notice and attempt to bring the Big G back to us in American theatres. Just a thought I wanted to share with everyone...
"...people look relieved and say, "Oh, that would have been much better."" And it would have been.
