I certainly think the performance of GFW helped determine which approach Kadokawa-Daiei chose to take with Gamera. GFW was arguably a more "adult" approach to kaiju eiga, and it didn't being in the intended audience. I would think that that killed any chance of a "Gamera 4" (Kaneko-like) approach to Gamera. Thus, "Little Braves".

No, definitely not sure of it, really just my guess as a marketing guy. Let me put it this way: if it were my job on the line, I'd be hesitant to greenlight an "adult" Gamera movie after GFW's box office. And if GFW had been an astounding success, I'd be doing a "Destroy All of Gamera's Monsters" approach, with a new Gamera facing off against new Baragon, new Gyaos, new Guiron, new Viras, Monster Z, and a race of alien chicks... in black leather!

Hollywood or Tokyo, I don't see a lot of originality in movie making these days!
