In the film, each time a monster appears, there's a little caption onscreen telling us who it is. I think I know what they're called except for Viras, but I'd like to be sure.

1. Supersonic Monster: Gaos
2. Deep-Sea Monster: Zigra
3. ?: Viras
4. Demon Beast: Jiger
5. Evil Beast: Guiron
6. Chilling Monster: Barugon

Does anyone know for sure?

The characters for Viras' subtitle in Gamera: Super Monster are "Suichuu Kaijuu" ("Underwater Monster").

Almost completely off topic, but are all the monster fights in this movie stock footage as the reviews I've read have led me to believe?

Crazy. I guess that's why this isn't a Gamera movie that gets a lot of discussion.

But this was the beginning of a new timeline right? This movie stands on it's own and doesn't carry the timeline of the first 7 Gamera flicks?
