This might be an old topic, but please allow me to put in my $0.5:

A US Gamera would be awesome, but IF and only IF the diretor has a good idea about the source material, or has a good imagination in order to film Gamera correctly.

I'd say, if one of the new age directors were brought in to film it, they'd probably try and have a go at Irys again, with better CG, or maybe remake Gamera:GOTU, but in modern-day USA.....

The Heisei Gamera series does NOT need a makeover from filmakers in the US, UK or Japan for that matter...
...what we want is G4 - I have hopes for that in the wake of GFW and Jackson´s KK. Kaiju interest will be very much heightened and Gamera could be very successful in that light.
