So, what will it be folks?

I voted 96...though I have a fond spot for almost all of these design. My second favorite would probably be Showa (the 66 suit in particular)

G2. It has that perfect mix for me of benevolence and aggression.

G3 is too trumped-up on the 'bad-assery', GOTU is a little too gentle, GTB is WAY too cutesy, Showa would probably be my number 2.

Nightmare might be my least favorite, I mean, it's fantastic for what it is, but it would SUCK if that were the suit for an entire movie.
Advent I remember liking a lot, and thought Toto would grow into that by the end of the film. I've only seen the movie once though, so maybe I'm due for a re-watch.

I went with GOTU. While I really love all three Heisei designs, there's somrething so endearing about the '95 model. It's cute without being silly.

96 Gamera for me. I think it's just a little bit cooler than the 95 suit. I think the 99 suit is a close 2nd for me. I just...there's something about it that feels like it only works in THAT particular film and wouldn't work as well in just about any Gamera adventure like the 96 suit feels like it could.

I went with the G3 suit. I dig the bulk, the macho look, the spikes, his sleek aerial mode and the mohawk. It's not a design I'd want to see in every Gamera movie, but that's why I like it so much. It's tailored so well to Gamera 3.

I want to hear from the people who voted showa...you're out there. Let's hear it.

I also like the G3 suit. I just think it looks more bad ass than the others. I actually like the Showa suit. But I like the ones used in Barugon and Gyaos. It seems like those two just look the best and after that, they made him look kinda, well, meh.

I went with G2. The G1 suit was very Showa-esque, and the G3 suit took Gamera further into another direction than ever before, but G2 had a nice medium between those two impulses, creating a more interesting (in my opinion) creature that nevertheless retains the traditional Gamera image.

I voted for the Legion suit but my preference is more of a tie between the G2 and G3 designs. Like others have said, the G2 suit is such a perfect overall Gamera while the G3 suit is such a perfect G3 Gamera. And, my God, do I have a huge boner for that movie.

I will say that Gamera suits, to be honest, never looked different to me. Compared to Godzilla suits, for example. Anyway, I'd have to go with Gamera 3 suit. With the Gamera: Guardian of the Universe tagging close behind.

Me too go with G2. Though I loved the suit in GOTU because it was a modernization of the showa ones.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I'm more conflicted than ever.

It's pretty much a tie for me of:

-G2 Gamera. As others have said, he's the perfect mix of Hesei Gameras. There's nothing overtly goofy about the design and he's not so scary that he can no longer be considered a children's character. This is also, I believe, the best designed Gamera of the bunch. It's just a solid creature design, even if you take away it's Gamera.

-GOTU Gamera. A perfect update of the Showa Gamera. A very appealing design for kids and it seems very Japanese in concept. When I think of an ideal image of what Gamera should look like this is usually the one that pops up in my mind. There are some angles of this Gamera that look amazing, and some that look straight goofy as hell...but that's exactly what Gamera should be.

-Showa. Specifically, the 68 version I think. Might be nostalgia but I love the Showa Gamera films and the suits.

These three are tied for me and I like them all for different reasons.

If I had to pick one it might be the G2 suit...or the GOTU...or Showa....it all depends on what day you ask me

G2. Everything G2. G2 as far as my eye can see.

Count me in as a G2 fan as well. The G3 design just looked too droopy to me.

Each suit is a perfect fit for its accompanying movie. Like Godzilla it's hard to say there's a definite design. I do like the G2/3 designs and Toto. And of course the Showa suits struck that perfect, simple prehistoric turtle monster look. The G1 design is just a more detailed take on that, with G2 a more streamlined take in turn. I think that's why it appeals to so many. G3 and Toto are just more story specific.

For a long time I thought the G2 was by far the best, for pretty much exactly the reasons Jellydonut mentions. But since the blurays came out, I've found myself more and more partial to the GOTU suit. Can't really explain it other than I just like the way it looks. Still have a tough time picking between those two for which one would actually be my favorite.
